What I'm Wearing for Thanksgiving & Christmas: 6 Nursing Holiday Outfits

The holidays are almost here, and I don't know about you, but I love having an excuse to dress up a little!

Between Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas church services, Hanukkah celebrations, family photos, and all the little gatherings in between, there are so many opportunities to wear something festive.

But as a breastfeeding mom, getting dressed up can come with a challenge. How do you wear a cute dress or sweater and still easily nurse or pump?

That's one of the reasons I started Nursing Queen. I wanted clothes that looked like regular clothes, but made breastfeeding and pumping so much easier.

So I'm sharing six of my favorite nursing-friendly holiday outfits this year. They're festive, comfortable, and most importantly, designed for real mom life.

1. Thanksgiving Dinner: The Spiced Wine Nursing Midi-Maxi Dress

This color just screams Thanksgiving to me!

Our Holy Grail Nursing Midi-Maxi Dress in Spiced Wine is one of my favorite looks for holiday dinners and family photos.

The rich wine color is gorgeous for fall, and the flowing silhouette is comfortable enough for a long day of cooking, eating, and chasing little ones around.

It has pockets (always a win!), stretchy fabric, and hidden zippers cleverly disguised in the bust seams.

That means when your baby gets hungry in the middle of Thanksgiving dinner, you can nurse without having to pull up your entire dress.

I'd pair it with ankle boots and simple gold jewelry for Thanksgiving, then wear it again for a Christmas gathering.

Real Mom Review - Kay:

"The zippers are completely hidden in the flattering princess seams and I will totally wear after nursing also! The color is beautiful and I am planning to wear to a couple winter weddings, my son’s baptism, and may get it in red for Christmas."

Another color I love: Dark Teal, which is beautiful for Christmas and winter events.

2. Christmas Parties & Family Photos: The Merlot Cotton Nursing Dress

If you're looking for something a little more polished, this is such a pretty option.

Our Cotton Poplin Nursing Midi Dress in Merlot is made from 100% cotton, with a flattering tie-front design, full lining, and pockets.

I love the classic silhouette because it feels dressed up without being overly formal.

It's perfect for Christmas parties, family photos, church, or a holiday dinner with friends.

And here's the detail I love most: the hidden nursing zippers are tucked into the bust seams, with the pulls concealed behind the front tie.

You get the look of a beautiful regular dress, with easy access when it's time to nurse or pump.

Not a fan of red? This dress also comes in Chocolate Brown, which I absolutely love for Thanksgiving. There are also Black, Dark Navy, Peacock, and True Navy options.

I'd style the Chocolate Brown with boots for Thanksgiving or the Merlot with heels for a Christmas party.

3. Christmas Eve Church: The Green Bell Sleeve Nursing Dress

There's something about wearing green at Christmas that I just love!

Our Green Bell Sleeve Nursing Dress is such a sweet option for Christmas Eve church, a holiday brunch, or a family gathering.

The bell sleeves make it feel a little dressier, while the comfortable cotton fabric and flowy fit make it practical for moms.

And yes, it has pockets!

One thing I especially love about this style is that it doesn't look like a nursing dress. The nursing zippers are hidden in the bust seams, so you can easily feed your baby without having to change out of your holiday outfit.

Real Mom Review - Cristina

"It’s hard to find nursing-friendly dresses that still feel put-together and appropriate for church, but this one is perfect. The hidden zippers make nursing super convenient, and the fit is flattering without being tight or revealing."

Pair it with boots and a cardigan for a cooler Christmas Eve, or flats for a daytime gathering.

4. Cozy Holiday Gatherings: The Gray Asymmetrical Nursing Sweater

Not every holiday gathering calls for a dress!

For a casual Thanksgiving with family, decorating the Christmas tree, or a cozy weekend visiting relatives, I love a good sweater and leggings.

Our Gray Asymmetrical Nursing Sweater is soft, comfortable, and has a clever overlapping front that makes nursing or pumping easier.

It's the kind of sweater you can wear with leggings and boots and still feel put together.

And I love that other moms are wearing it for the holidays, too.

That's exactly what I want from holiday clothes. Something cute that works when your baby needs you!

5. Christmas Tree Shopping & Casual Family Dinners: The Pine Green Nursing Tunic

This is one of those tops that's so easy to throw on and go!

Our Long Sleeve Nursing Tunic in Pine Green is perfect for the more casual moments of the holiday season.

Think Christmas tree shopping, cookie decorating, visiting grandparents, or dinner with the family.

I love the longer, relaxed fit with leggings or skinny jeans and boots.

The hidden horizontal zipper has pulls on both sides, making it easy to access for breastfeeding or pumping while keeping the rest of your top in place.

And the Pine Green color is so pretty for Christmas.

More holiday colors: It also comes in Burgundy and Rust. Burgundy is beautiful for December, while Rust is perfect for Thanksgiving and fall family photos.

This is also a great style to pack if you're traveling to see family over the holidays.

6. Work Holiday Parties & Dressier Events: The Black Fit-and-Flare Nursing Dress

Sometimes you just need a classic black dress.

Our Black Fit-and-Flare Nursing Dress with Tan Stripe is one of those versatile styles that works for a holiday office gathering, Christmas dinner, or a dressier family event. This is also such a pretty option for Hanukkah celebrations!

A Little Holiday Reminder From One Mom to Another

The holidays with a baby can be so special, but they can also be a lot.

You're juggling family gatherings, meals, pictures, travel, and everyone's schedules—often while trying to find a quiet moment to nurse or pump.

Your clothes should be one less thing to worry about.

Whether you're dressing up for Christmas Eve, celebrating Hanukkah with family, or keeping it casual for Thanksgiving at home, I hope these outfits help you feel comfortable, confident, and a little more like yourself this holiday season.

And the best part? These aren't clothes you'll have to put away when you're finished breastfeeding. They're styles you can keep wearing and loving.
